The team built a solid-state motor controller that regulates the battery voltage to the motor which sets the speed of the vehicle. The test was successful. Currently, a design for a chassis is being constructed. They plan to build this vehicle with parts of the original golf cart.

A golf cart was obtained and the Solar team took measurements and researched for parts and controllers to begin piecing together the solar car.
October 14, 2007 ~ Sunday
The Solar team began testing the engine of the current solar car by using an inertia dynamometer.
October 7, 2007 ~ Sunday
Currently the Solar team is calculating the torque of the vehicle's motor.

The solar team prepared the solar car for club rush using the Vex chassis.
September 29, 2007 ~ Saturday
The solar team is currently planning how to scale up from the Vex prototype they made earlier in the year. Their first challenge is to master electronic motor control and to work on power management using pulse width modulation.
